In short, our new assistant will be a receptionist, a legal secretary, a paralegal, and a general assistant — depending upon the day and the assistant’s capabilities. Principal responsibilities include but are not limited to: all aspects of litigation support, preparing and filing documents in court, creating internal files; filing, photocopying, scanning; faxing; mailing correspondence, FedEx and post-office trips; document management and organization; drafting correspondence and legal forms, greeting clients and other guests; processing e-Filings, maintaining attorneys’ general calendar; coordinating messengers and deliveries; scheduling meetings; preparing conference room for meetings; and/or ordering food and drinks; assisting attorneys with trial preparations; and other clerical duties as they arise.
The successful candidate will be welcoming, very confident, patient, charismatic, and have a sense of humor! Previous legal experience is required. Knowledge of MS Word, Excel, Adobe Acrobat Reader, MS Office 10 is absolutely required; knowledge of TimeSolv is highly desired. A Paralegal Certificate is a plus.
