Janine C. Sun
Ms. Sun is an experienced litigator who handles numerous employment, complex business, real estate and commercial litigation matters on behalf of both plaintiffs and defendants. Ms. Sun represents individuals and entities in disputes involving fraud and negligent representation, breach of contract, breach of fiduciary duty, and professional negligence.
In addition to litigating, Ms. Sun counsels both employers and employees on a wide range of labor and employment issues, such as employee discipline and termination, leaves of absence, and wage and hour law compliance.
Interests
Ms. Sun is an avid reader and accomplished pianist. In her spare time, she enjoys running, cooking, and spending time with her family and friends. She works regularly at her children’s school and serves on the school board. Ms. Sun speaks Mandarin fluently.
Ms. Sun was selected by Los Angeles Magazine as a Southern California Super Lawyers “Rising Star” in the area of employment litigation, in 2005, 2006, 2007, and 2008. This prestigious honor is reserved for attorneys who excel in their area of specialty.
Prior to joining Boren Osher & Luftman LLP in 2009, Ms. Sun practiced employment litigation at Littler Mendelson P.C. Ms. Sun represented employers in state and federal courts and before the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, the California Department of Labor Standards Enforcement and the California Department of Fair Employment and Housing in matters of discrimination, harassment, wrongful termination, and wage and hour claims. She also represented both employees and employers in numerous tort cases.
Ms. Sun also completed a semester-long externship with the Federal Trade Commission, Western Division, in 1999.
